The dossier

Appearance: Meet Gabriel, the most angelic Toe Monster in Cheddar Gorge! Standing at almost six feet tall, Gabriel is a delightful and friendly creature with light yellow fur and black anchor tattoos. His floppy bunny ears, radiant wings, and glowing halo indicate his good nature and love of life.

Personality: Gabriel is not just any ordinary Toe Monster. He’s a good Toe Monster, most of the time. Unlike his mischievous counterparts, Gabriel only nibbles on the toes of children who can’t sing in tune or are selfish when they play football. If you’re a good sport and love to sing, Gabriel will be your best friend. He even helps children escape the other Toe Monsters, guiding them safely back to their homes.

Cave Life: Gabriel’s cave is a fun and vibrant place, reflecting his love for music and football. Inside, you’ll find his twin record deck for mixing music and a microphone where he sings his heart out. The walls are adorned with posters of England and Spurs FC, and a big TV constantly showing thrilling football matches. Scattered around are footballs and cozy seating areas, perfect for a sing-along or a game of footie.

Fun Fact: Gabriel’s beautiful melodies often echo through the caves of Cheddar Gorge. If you ever hear enchanting tunes while exploring, it’s probably Gabriel, the good Toe Monster, having a blast with his music.

Warning: While Gabriel is generally friendly, he does have a unique taste. He only eats the toes of children who can’t sing in tune or are selfish when they play football. So, always sing in harmony and remember to pass the ball, and you’ll stay on Gabriel’s good side!

Habitat survey

Inside Gabriel’s cave

Somewhere in Cheddar Gorge — the exact spot is a secret, and the cave has an inconvenient habit of not being where it was — is where Gabriel lives. The survey photograph below was taken quickly, and the surveyor did not stay for tea.
