The dossier

Appearance: Big Rich stands out among the Toe Monsters. Towering at seven feet tall, this bright red behemoth has fur as vivid as a ripe strawberry. Although he can walk on two legs, Big Rich often prefers running on all fours, especially when chasing down the irresistible scent of cheesy feet. With his oversized, clumsy feet, he has a friendly yet oblivious expression that can turn a tad scary if you’re not wearing shoes and socks!

Personality: Despite his daunting size, Big Rich is a gentle giant, albeit a bit clumsy. He’s not inherently mean but tends to accidentally sit on babies or stomp on toddlers due to his height. Children, beware, especially on hot days when you might be tempted to roam barefoot!

Cave Life: Big Rich’s cave is a haven for games and fun. Adorned with Liverpool FC posters, the cave features a foosball table, pool table, and a football goal. A huge TV perpetually displays football matches, adding to the sporty atmosphere. In one corner, a round table holds a partially completed 500-piece jigsaw puzzle, showing Big Rich’s love for challenges beyond chasing cheesy toes.

Fun Fact: Big Rich’s love for cheese is only rivalled by his fondness for football. On match days, you can bet he’s glued to his TV, cheering on his favourite team, Liverpool FC.

Habitat survey

Inside Big Rich’s cave

Somewhere in Cheddar Gorge — the exact spot is a secret, and the cave has an inconvenient habit of not being where it was — is where Big Rich lives. The survey photograph below was taken quickly, and the surveyor did not stay for tea.
