The dossier

Appearance: Buzz was stung by a bumble bee when he was a baby. Consequently, he stands out with his distinctive bumble bee-like appearance, complete with black and yellow stripes. His fluffy bunny ears add to his quirky charm. Despite his cute and cuddly look, Buzz is the fastest Toe Monster in the world, making him a formidable figure for children trying to escape his chase.

Personality: Buzz is an energetic and enthusiastic Toe Monster. His love for exercise, especially running, keeps him in top shape and always ready for a chase. When he’s not sprinting after children, Buzz enjoys quieter activities like reading books. His favourite football team is Brentford FC, affectionately known as “The Bees,” which aligns perfectly with his bee-like appearance.

Cave Life: Buzz’s cave is a cozy and lively place filled with books, showcasing his love for reading. The shelves are lined with a variety of genres, and there are always a few books scattered around, indicating his current reads. A large TV is often tuned to Brentford FC matches, allowing him to cheer on his favourite team.

In the corner of his cave, Buzz has a well-equipped kitchen where he indulges in his passion for baking. His specialty is honey and chocolate cake, which he bakes and eats every weekend, regardless of whether it’s his birthday. The calories from his delicious cakes fuel his intense running sessions, making sure he’s always in prime condition.

Fun Fact: Buzz’s bee sting not only gave him his unique appearance but also a love for all things bee-related. He enjoys learning about bees and their role in nature, often incorporating honey into his baking recipes to honour his striped friends.

Warning: Children, if you see a bumble bee-like Toe Monster zooming past, it’s best to stay on high alert. Buzz’s speed is unmatched, and his love for running means he’s always ready for a chase. Admire his dedication to fitness and baking from a safe distance, and if you ever smell honey and chocolate cake, you’ll know Buzz is nearby.

Habitat survey

Inside Buzz’s cave

Somewhere in Cheddar Gorge — the exact spot is a secret, and the cave has an inconvenient habit of not being where it was — is where Buzz lives. The survey photograph below was taken quickly, and the surveyor did not stay for tea.
